Dick Dorf, PhD. Chairman, Board of Directors- Dr. Dorf is Professor of Management and Electrical & Computer Engineering at UC Davis. His expertise is focused on entrepreneurship and innovation and more recently sustainable technologies. He is founder and cofounder of several companies. He is cofounder and Chairman of Morgan & Claypool, a company that does scientific electronic publishing and he is cofounder and Board member of Gensa, an IT consulting company that works with clients to evaluate business needs, determine strategy, functionality and technology to develop a solution that will add the most value to their e-Business. Other companies he cofounded include Robotics, Inc., Davis Video Inc. (an early video by mail firm), and Boyd & Fraser Publishing and he was on the board and is a shareholder in Clean Energy Systems. He co-wrote (with Professor Tom Byers of Stanford) the leading college textbook on technology entrepreneurship (Technology Ventures). He was Dean of Extended Learning at UC Davis from 1972-1982 and Vice President at Ohio University and Chairman of the Electrical Engineering Dept. at University of Santa Clara.
